In all, there are 18 different Tacoma configurations based on three cab styles: Regular Cab (with space behind the front seats), Access Cab (with utilitarian rear seats), and a four-door Double Cab (with full rear seating). Tacoma Regular and Access Cab trucks come with a 73.5-inch-long bed, and the Double Cab Tacoma is available with either a 60.3-inch bed or a longer 73.5-inch version.
Tacoma Truck Engines
- A 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out 159hp and 180 lb-ft. of torque; pair it with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission
- A 4.0-liter V6 that produces 236hp and 266 lb-ft. of torque; pair it with a six-speed automatic or five-speed automatic transmission
Both engines have variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i). An Electronic Throttle Control System helps both performance and fuel economy.
Tacoma Bed, Roof Rack & Trailer Hitch
The Tacoma's composite truck bed has been a popular feature since being introduced during the last redesign. The bed is lighter than steel, but very durable. Look inside the bed for Tacoma's integrated deck rails and adjustable tie-down cleats -- they're made to work with Toyota bed accessories. A bed mounted 115V/400W powerpoint is available.Double Cab Tacoma trucks now have a handy roof rack system.
All Tacoma trucks have an integrated trailer hitch, and V6 trucks can tow up to 6,500 pounds.
