Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck Updates for the 2010 Model Year

Silverado 1500 pickup trucks haven't changed significantly for the 2010 model year, but Chevy tweaked some of the truck's features and turned a couple of options into standard equipment.

2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 Updates

• Look for E85 FlexFuel capability on Silverados equipped with 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.2L engines.

• 4.8L and 5.3L engines have variable valve timing, a feature that improves performance and fuel economy.

• Regular and Extended Cab trucks with 5.3L V-8 engines are equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

• 3.08 axle ratio and fuel saver mode are standard with Silverado trucks equipped with a 5.3L V-8 engine.

• Side curtain air bags and seat-mounted side air bags are standard on all 1500 Silverado trucks.

• USB connectivity on all radios (except base) -- stored audio files will play through the audio system; charges battery for some handheld devices.

• Interior door trim has been changed.

• A rearview camera is available on more models

• StabiliTrak electronic control system is now standard on all Silverado 1500 trucks.

• Two new exterior colors: Taupe Gray Metallic and Sheer Silver Metallic.

Silverado regular cab trucks are available with either a standard (6 ft. 6 in.) or long (8 ft) box in your choice of a 2WD or 4WD configuration.

• 4.8L V-8, 302hp, 305 lb-ft torque
• 5.3L V-8, 315 hp, 335 lb-ft torque (gas), 326hp, 345 lb-ft torque (E85)
