The Honda Pilot offers several new features for 2005:

  • New 255HP engine with DBW (Drive by Wire Throttle Control System)

  • Addition of Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with location indicator

  • Revised 4th and 5th gear ratios to provide a smoother transition between gears

  • VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) on EX-L models

  • Addition of driver seat position sensor and passenger seat weight sensor that correlate to front airbag deployment

  • New fuel tank design (increases range by 40+ miles)

  • Improved sunroof with wind deflector for EX-L trim

  • Revised steering pump for enhanced on center feel

  • Revised IP: ambient light for EX-L trim level added plus a new 6-disc CD changer for EX and EX-L trim levels

  • Driver footrest added

  • New integrated remote key fob

  • Keyless entry added for LX trim model

  • New steering wheel design

  • ULEV-2 Emissions rating

  • New exterior colors: Desert Rock, Steel Blue and Billet Sliver

The 3.5-liter, V6 engine is coupled with a drive-by-wire throttle system, which helps reduce shift shock by communicating with the transmission during up and down shifts. The all-electronic system senses the accelerator pedal position and relays that information to a computer.

Pilot Pricing

MSRP ranges from $27,350 for the Pilot LX to $34,120 for the Pilot EX with leather interior and navigation system.
