Thanks, Dad

My first Ford was a 1970 F-100 Custom that my dad bought and gave to me when I was 12. I'm 16 now. It has a 302 small block and sounds real nice. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Love my truck!

I was driving a Cadillac Seville when a friend pulled up with his F-150 Lariat. I looked at that truck and fell in love! Right then - 2002 - I traded the caddy for a 2001 F-150 Lariat fully loaded - plus I had the dealer install a sun roof and a remote starter. Have put over 110,000 miles on it and love driving it to this day. My husband was driving a '99 F-150 when we met - which is why he is now my husband. Didn't need two trucks, so we traded his truck (had over 200,000 miles on it!) for a Ford 500. Can't beat a FORD!!!

1953 F150 - Camper

In 1953 my father purchased a 1953 Ford F150 Truck. He made a camper for it. It was the first truck and camper in the San Fernando Valley of California. He died in 1959 but how well I remember this truck and the many good times we had in it. The truck was green and everywhere we went people would comment on it and the workmanship. I don't have any pictures of it and often wonder what happened to it. I always take pictures of F150s when I see them - fondly remembering our truck.

My First Love

My first Truck was a 69 Dodge with the slant 6 that everyone oooh-ed over. It wasn't until I bought my 1978 F-100 customized bed with crib rails that I truly fell in love. That truck and I have many memories and it was unbelievably reliable. I now own a 1999 F250- Lariat that I bought used from a guy who pampered it. Beautiful truck!

My First Ford Truck

In 1965, I bought a 1937 Ford pickup with a Flathead V8 and mechanical brakes -- it had original paint and was in very good condition, I might add. I bought the truck from a guy whose dad was the original owner. I paid about $250 for it, and sold it for 3 times that amount three years later. It was a great truck, but very hard to stop. Now I drive a 2004 F-150 XLT 4x4 that I bought new.

My First F150

It was a 1977 truck with 302 under the hood and oversized tires on the back. That baby would really go. My latest truck is an '09 STX.

Why Change to Brand X?

Its amazing to me why anyone would want to put a stinking Chevy engine in a classic old Ford truck. All of the old arguments for doing so don't hold water anymore when the prices to build the same small block Ford are equal. Plus it's the right motor for the right brand truck. Additionally, I have seen some really rare Fords with really common 350s in them -- that spoils the exclusivity of the vehicle, not to mention the fact that 350s just don't run any better than a small block Ford! My first F-150 was a '95 Lightening with a Powerdyne blower, Jacobs ignition, BorlaSS exhaust, a reworked E-40d, running only 5lbs of boost. It was truly a BAD boy. Many winning races later, I sold it to another collector--wish I hadn't!

1992 F-150 Flareside

I had a 1992 Ford F-150 Flareside that I bought new in Lawrenceville, NJ from Keats Ford on Route 1. My mom had just died and I was in the process of selling her house, moving all her stuff to my place (a small apt) and with all the trauma I was going through I went out and bought a truck. It was the Iris color (purple) with gray accent along the bottom. It had a V8, power windows, locks, A/C. Man, it was sooo bad ass! In fact, I still like that '92 body style better than what Ford is making today because the current F-150 is HUGE! Man I loved that truck.
