The top was chopped. Lots of elbow grease applied.

Some of the truck's features: 

Chopped top. Flat head 239 CID engine with finned Edelbrock heads, dual Stromberg 97 carburetors.

Here's what made the truck special. 

I bought it in 1960 from a friend, Cliff Hooper, the flagman from Napierville Drag Strip.

1961 Entered it in mine and Montreal's 1st. Bob Laravee's ISCA, Salon D'auto Sport car show in the unfinished class.

I also drag raced it at Deseronto, Ontario drag strip.

Man, this truck was my pride and joy.

Advice 

  • Don't sell you favorite truck. Ever!
  • I always wished I still had it.
  • Sadly it later was lost in a fire.
