2010 Ford F-150 by Ford Vehicle Personalization

Project FX2 Sport is a candy-red truck built by the Ford Vehicle Personalization Team.

Here's part of an email I received from Mark Birnhart, the Team's Truck Marketing Manager. He's not at SEMA this year, and stayed in Dearborn to work another project.

"The show vehicle is based on the new 2010 model year F-150 FX2 that hits showrooms next week. The Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant Team was absolutely instrumental in making this show vehicle possible. The vehicle really brings attention to the new F-150 FX2 offering. Our Ford Vehicle Personalization Team delivered the new F-150 FX2 working along with Eric Kuehn, the F-150 Chief Nameplate Engineer, and his Truck Product Development Team."

The regular FX2 Sport package is available from Ford dealers now and features a dark billet grille, unique headlamp treatment, monochromatic paint, unique wheels, custom step bars, a deep front valance, and sport captains chairs with flow through center console and floor mounted shifter.

The SEMA concept truck is somewhat different. The regular cab configuration isn't available in the FX2 production truck, and neither is the 6.2L engine. Other variations are the Red Candy tinted clear coat and Satin Gold graphics, a black chrome billet grille, a Ford Racing rear dual exhaust system with black chrome tips, a lowering kit, a hood scoop, and Satin Gold finishes on the wheels and towing hitch accessories.

The SEMA truck is equipped with Trailer Sway Control (standard on all F-150 trucks) plus the Trailer Brake Controller and a nav system.
