Automobile manufacturers have always offered accessories, but historically, promoting that part of the business hasn't been a priority. Most automakers are entering the accessories market more fully now, after realizing they've been missing out on a share of the 34-billion dollar a year market, and they want everyone to see that they are serious about selling accessories.

The folks at Chrysler recognize that drivers like to personalize their trucks, and the MOPAR parts division offers a large selection of performance and cosmetic accessories to help car and truck owners do just that. One of the best places to showcase those products is the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Nevada, a huge event that features over 2,000 exhibitors showing products related to every aspect of the auto industry.

The Chrysler Group will have a 28,400 square-foot exhibit area at the 2011 SEMA show. More than 30 MOPAR customized vehicles will be on display, representing Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, SRT and Fiat. Chrysler also plans to show over 500 MOPAR accessories at this year's show.

One of the Ram trucks featured in the SEMA display will be the 392 Quick Silver, a 2011 Ram R/T pickup outfitted with a 470 horsepower HEMI V8 engine. The Ram 392 is also equipped with a cold-air intake kit. Headers and a cat-back dual exhaust system ramp-up the truck's sound.

Discs and calipers were replaced with a Brembo big brake kit, which brought in 15-inch vented rotors and bright silver six-piston calipers in the front and rear.

The Quick Silver truck's body is painted in a three-stage silver color scheme. Its roof is glossy black and the truck's wheels, grille inserts, mirrors, and some of its interior trim components are coated with anodized red paint.

The Quick Silver pickup's MOPAR Underground hood, a reverse deep-cowel aluminum style with functional heat extractors, was inspired by the new Dodge Charger SRT8. Smoked lenses cover all of the 392 Quick Silver's exterior lights.

Ram lowered the Quick Silver pickup by 2 inches, and a MOPAR body kit introduced sill and box pieces to the truck, along with a chin spoiler.

MOPAR Underground's 22-inch wheels are mounted with 275/45R22 tires on the front of the truck, and 305/40R22 tires roll in the rear position. Other MOPAR accessories installed on the Quick Silver truck include a hard tonneau cover with an integrated spoiler that redirects the air for additional down force at high speeds.

Inside the Quick Silver truck, high-bolster SRT seats are covered in Katzkin leather, with red stitching and accents that match the Quick Silver's red steering wheel, instrument panel, Ram Laramie Longhorn inspired leather shift knob, door panels and center console trim. MOPAR pedals and door sills complete the look.

Kicker speakers give the Quick Silver's audio system a boost, and the package is made up of tweeters in the instrument panel, mids in the doors and in the back, and woofers in the doors. Space behind the seats remains speaker-free, allowing more space for small cargo.

Chrysler will also display the Dodge Durango Tow Hook vehicle at SEMA. Designed by MOPAR Underground, the Durango sports an orange and satin-black color scheme inside and out. The show Durango was lowered by 25 mm and outfitted with twin-spoke 22-inch by 9.5-inch wheels.

This year's SEMA show starts on November 1, and we'll be covering many of the trucks on display, along with details that emerge about new and innovative accessories, so plan to check back for updates.
