Roll Stability Control
The Sport Trac concept is equipped with Fords Roll Stability Control technology, a feature that the automaker plans to include on more than half a million of its SUVs by the end of 2005.
The system provides roll-rate sensing and correcting capability when it detects the possibility of a rollover. Under those conditions it automatically engages counter measures to help the driver maintain control and reduce the risk of rollover.
Ford's roll system was introduced on the 2003 Volvo XC90 and the company expanded it to Lincoln SUVs for the 2004 model year. You can learn more about the feature's effectiveness in Colin Hefferon's review of the 2004 Volvo XC90
