Engine
The Explorer Sport Trac concept truck is powered by what Ford calls "a fuel-efficient, performance tuned" 4.6-liter V8 engine.
Sporty Appearance
- The vehicle is about 5 inches longer, 2 inches wider, and sits 2 inches lower than todays current Sport Trac.
- The appears to have a sporty, performance-like appearance, enhanced with hood scoops and two side scoops located in front of the A-pillar.
- The vehicle rides on 21-inch, 10-spoke aluminum wheels with a gunmetal finish and custom Goodyear tires.
Independent Rear Suspension
The concept truck features the first use of independent rear suspension in the Sport Trac series, a feature that should offer drivers better handling on all surfaces since it helps absorb bumps and impacts.
Sleek Lines for a Street Rod Look
The concept appears to have sleek, simple lines. Its off-white "Moonlight" paint is paired with polished aluminum accents on the upper and lower grille, fog lamps and exhaust tips. Wraparound taillights give the rear of the truck a sleek appearance.
The door handles have been shaved off--press unlock on the key fob to automatically open the doors.
