Nearing Production?

Acura introduced its RD-X concept SUV at the 2005 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It's the second version of the RD-X shown at Detroit, but Acura says this one "hints strongly at the production vehicle," set for release in 2006.

SH-AWD System

The RD-X powertrain features Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, a system first introduced on the 2005 Acura RL sedan. The system distributes torque between the front and rear wheels and also between the left and right rear wheels, resulting in enhanced traction and cornering abilities.

More About the RD-X

  • Fully independent front and rear suspension
  • Brembo disc brakes with slotted rotors
  • 19-inch, 5-spoke alloy wheels and 255/50R19 tires
  • 181.5 inches long, putting the RD-X in the small SUV segment
  • Wrap-around LED headlights and taillights
  • Rear spoiler
