GMC's Sprint was introduced in 1971, and although the car-based pickup (a style also known as a ute) was built through 1989, it was never as popular as the vehicle it was modeled after, the Chevy El Camino.
The GMC Sprint was produced through 1977, when it changed dramatically and was renamed Caballero.
