Dale Jr's Big Red Silverado Truck
Customized Off-road Silverado Truck Shown at SEMA 2006

From Dale Wickell, About.com

Dale Earnhardt, Jr., teamed up with Chevrolet to design the Big Red Silverado, an off-road truck based on the 2007 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab and Dale's own customized truck.

Big Red's power comes from GM's 6.2L Generation IV V-8 engine. The all-aluminum engine puts out 380 hp and 417 lb.-ft of torque. The truck uses a four-speed automatic transmission with 3.73 gears in the front and rear differentials. It's equipped with Eaton ELocker electronic locking differentials -- for getting out of those slick spots.

To stop the big truck, GM designers chose six-piston calipers and cross-drilled rotors for the front and twin-piston cross-drilled rotors for the rear. The Big Red Silverado runs on unique 20" wheels and oversize tires.

The truck's body panels are customized too -- the fenders, hood with scoop and rear bed sides. Big Red has a roll bar with integrated driving lights. The truck's interior is black leather and GM added a special locomotive horn at Dale Jr's request.
