Comparing Truck Performance on a Slick Surface

The wet area you can see on this part of the track had a mat surface that simulated a slick road. It's used to test the abilities of anti-lock brakes, traction control and vehicle stability control systems. I have to admit that I had a good time accelerating to about 60 mph, and then turning the steering wheel back and forth to see how a truck might react in an emergency situation -- all without worrying I'd be pulled over by the state patrol.

Every truck handled the action real well. The demonstrations were set up to show the strengths of the Silverado and Sierra, and the tests did that perfectly. But even if it hadn't been a GM organized event, I think all of us discovered that both of those trucks excel in difficult driving conditions.
