2008 North American International Auto Show
New Trucks and Cars at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show

From Dale Wickell, About.com

The single most important theme at the 2008 North American International Auto Show was Green. Green technology was apparent in the booths of most major manufacturers, who showed us hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles of all sorts -- concepts and vehicles that are either in production now or headed there.

General Motors announced a partnership with Coskata Inc., a company with the technology to produce affordable ethanol from renewable sources like garbage and used tires. Others showed us their new technology by displaying cutaway vehicles or individual components.

This gallery is an overview of the 2008 NAIAS, trucks and cars and everything in-between. The show is huge, and all of the nitty-gritty information that's available takes awhile to sift through, so check back for more additions here and throughout the Trucks Web site.

Public show dates are January 19 - January 26 and I encourage you to attend if you can. My NAIAS Profile explains what the show is all about.
