Toyota Tacoma - 2009 Updates
Toyota is offering its compact Tacoma pickup truck in four new colors, but other than a few tweaks to its exterior trim the truck's body remains unchanged.Most updates to the 2009 Toyota Tacoma revolve around safety and comfort features.
Standard Toyota Tacoma Safety Features
All 2009 Tacoma pickups come standard with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRAC). The addition of those two systems makes the Tacoma one of the vehicles equipped with Toyota's STAR Safety system. Other STAR system features include:
The 2009 Tacoma was one of just a few small trucks that performed well in crash tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Additional features that are now standard on the Tacoma include an automatic limited slip differential, roll-sensing curtain and seat side airbags, and front active headrests (built to help reduce the chance of whiplash).

2009 Tacoma Exterior Styling Updates
Look for an argent painted grille (grayish metallic) and LED taillamps on the 2009 Tacoma. The Tacoma X-Runner, TRD Offroad and TRD Sport trucks have smoked headlamp trim.
Inside 2009 Tacoma Trucks
AudioTacoma trucks are fitted with an enhanced standard audio system for 2009, with an AM/FM radio, auxiliary audio input, an MP3-capable CD player and XM Satellite radio capability.
Access Cab and Double Cab trucks have two new ceiling mounted speakers, for a total of six.
A six-disc CD changer with XM Satellite Radio and Bluetooh is available for Tacoma Double Cabs. It includes a 3-month subscription to XM.
