The base engine in 2WD Colorado trucks is a 2.9-liter four-cylinder with variable valve timing that puts out 185 hp and 190 lb.-ft. of torque.A 3.7-liter five-cylinder engine with variable valve timing is standard in 4WD Colorado Crew Cabs and optional in all other models. It's rated at 242hp and 242 lb.-ft. of torque.
