Colorado Pickup Trucks - Highlights, Model Selections & New Features

Chevy gave us two "official" pictures of the 2008 Colorado truck, the first indication that we shouldn't expect many changes this year. And it's not a surprise, since the recent focus has been on changes to the Silverado.

The Colorado wasn't neglected in 2007 -- Chevy gave the truck a power boost by adding two new engines.

New for 2008

  • OnStar with one-year Safe & Sound Service is standard on all Colorado trucks.
  • Watch for three new exterior colors: Inferno Orange Metallic, Black Granite Metallic and Dark Gray Metallic.

2008 Colorado Body Configurations

  • Regular Cab (no rear seats)
  • Extended Cab (basic rear seating)
  • Crew Cab (full rear seats)

All Colorado trucks are available as either 2WD or 4WD vehicles.

Colorado Engines

The base engine in 2WD Colorado trucks is a 2.9-liter four-cylinder with variable valve timing that puts out 185 hp and 190 lb.-ft. of torque.

A 3.7-liter five-cylinder engine with variable valve timing is standard in 4WD Colorado Crew Cabs and optional in all other models. It's rated at 242hp and 242 lb.-ft. of torque.

Standard in All 2008 Colorado Trucks

  • rack-and-pinion steering
  • intermittent wipers
  • air conditioning
  • tilt steering wheel
  • cruise control
  • folding outside mirrors

Optional on 2008 Colorado Trucks

  • remote keyless entry
  • traction assist on 2WD trucks
  • XM Satellite Radio
  • fog lamps
  • self-dimming interior rearview mirror
  • power, heated leather seats
  • high-back bucket seats
  • rear sliding window
  • power outside rearview mirrors

2008 Colorado Truck Pricing

Colorado pricing ranges from $15,570 for a basic regular cab truck to $27,350 for a loaded crew cab.

Since there were no body changes, the 2007 Colorado Pictures and Highlights gallery gives you a good look at this year's truck.
