A hefty percentage of auto manufacturers set up exhibits at the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (SEMA, for short) in Las Vegas, Nevada. They always display their own accessories, sometimes build vehicles especially for the show, and often invite others to add their own modified or accessorized vehicles to the display. Joining efforts is a win-win situation for both the automakers and the builders -- manufacturers get the extra drawing power of vehicles they didn't build, and builders have a chance to display their work, and maybe even pick up additional sponsors.

Long Beach Racers Tacoma Truck

Toyota 2011 SEMA exhibit includes a Toyota Tacoma Baja 1000 truck that was built and raced by the Long Beach Racers, a group of people who specialize in off-road racing. They've modified the truck's front and rear suspension, added a 50 gallon fuel cell, racing seats and harnesses, carbon fiber skid plates, multiple driving lights, 35" BFGoodrich tires (on 16" TRD Baja Series wheels) and installed a TRD Big Brake kit.

The truck's roll cage is their own special design -- much lower in the rear to improve visibility. The truck is wrapped with a vinyl decal-like product that's applied over the painted surfaces. Its graphic includes an image of the 2012 Toyota Tacoma TX Baja Series pickup truck.

The Long Beach Racers Tacoma is the real deal, and the truck is scheduled to race in the Baja 1000, the Off Road Expo, Supercross, Dew Tour and 2012 Score off-road races.
