Toyota's working on getting its redesigned 2007 Tundra truck recognized in the work truck category. The automaker participated in a 2006 National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) conference that gives aftermarket truck accessory companies an opportunity to measure trucks and produce components such as lifts, tool boxes and ladders in time for each new vehicle's launch date.
Toyota brought long bed versions of the 2007 Tundra truck to the event. Long beds will be available in Regular Cab and Double Cab body styles. The 2007 Tundra Double Cab has a 165-inch wheelbase, making it the longest Toyota pickup truck. It can carry six passengers and has extra storage behind the rear seats. The Regular Cab Tundra also has extra storage behind its seats and Toyota's preliminary specs indicate it has the largest interior volume in its class.
Toyota has changed the 2007 Tundra's projected release date a couple of times. February 2007 seems to be the new target date.
