Sierra Truck Engines

The 6.2L V8 is unique to the Denali. Other GMC Sierras are equipped with one of four engines:

  • 4.3L V6 is standard on the Sierra Work Truck (195 hp / 260 lb.ft. torque)
  • 4.8L V8 (295 hp / 305 lb.ft. torque)
  • 5.3L V8 is standard on the Sierra SLT (E85 compatible, 315 hp / 338 lb.ft. torque)
  • An optional 6.0L V8 (367 hp / 375 lb.ft. torque)

Sierra Truck Transmission Choices

A 6-speed automatic transmission is unique to the Denali -- all other Sierras are equipped with a 4-speed automatic. All Sierra transmissions have a tow/haul mode.

Towing Capacity

From 8,200 to 10,500 pounds, depending on the configuration.

Payload

From 1,574 to 1,947 pounds, depending on the configuration.
