Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) turned a new 4WD F-150 into an off-road competitor when it built the SVT Raptor. One important change is a new front suspension that gives the SVT a wider stance (7" wider than the typical F-150) and enhances its stability during higher-speed off-road adventures.
Exceptional suspension travel (13.4" in the rear and 11.2" in the front) allows the truck's tires to stay in contact with the ground when traveling over irregular surfaces, and internal bypass shocks (developed by Fox Racing Shox) help the Raptor handle rough terrain, and to land safely after going airborne.
The Raptor's unique grille, front fenders and hood (with heat extractor vents) set it apart from a typical 4WD F-150 truck.
