2011 Ford Super Duty Truck Introduction

© Ford Motor Co.
8/4/10: Have you already taken delivery of a 2011 Ford Super Duty truck outfitted with the manufacturer's new 6.7L turbocharged diesel? If you have, the truck's in line for a power boost. Ford plans to upgrade the powertrain control module in all 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks, a move that will increase power (to 800 lb.-ft. of torque and 400 hp) while improving fuel economy.

Owners who've already taken delivery of their 2011 Super Duty pickup trucks will receive a letter from Ford, asking them to contact their dealership for the free upgrade, which should take about 30 minutes. Trucks on dealer lots will be upgraded before delivery when possible.

Upgrades will start by August 31st and continue for the next year.

Ford's offering another freebie -- 2011 Super Duty owners can visit dealers for a one-time free DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) top-off. The product helps reduce emissions and is typically topped off at oil changes.
