Ram Outdoorsman Pickup Truck

Ram's new Outdoorsman pickup is available on all cab configurations of its 1500, 2500 and 3500 2WD and 4WD trucks. As the name implies, the trucks' special features are geared to camping buffs, hunters, fishermen or anyone else who uses a pickup for outdoor activities.

Ram 4x4 1500 trucks with 4WD have protective skid plates for the front suspension and transfer case. Tow hooks, all weather floor mats and a larger fuel tank are also part of the package. Outdoorsman trucks ride on 17-inch light truck all terrain tires.

The trucks' cloth covered front seats come in either a 40/20/40 configuration or as bucket seats. The driver's seat is equipped with 10-way power adjustments, and includes power lumbar control. Other convenience features on the Outdoorsman include a leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, remote-start with a security system, dash mounted 115 volt auxiliary power outlet, and auto-dimming heated fold-away outside mirrors.

All Outdoorsman trucks are sprayed with two-tone paint (the lower section is Mineral Gray). The pickups have black exterior door handles, wheel lip moldings, special Outoorsman badges and scratch resistant steel bumpers.

Outdoorsman trucks have a towing package with:

  • Standard Class IV receiver hitch
  • Combination 4 and 7-pin wiring plug
  • Cooling package (transmission cooler and limited slip differential

An integrated trailer brake controller is available on 1500 series trucks; it's standard on 2500 and 3500 Ram pickup trucks.

The Ram Outdoorsman will be available in the third quarter of 2010. Truck prices start at $28,350.
