Chevy Trucks

Look for plenty of changes to Chevy's 2009 truck lineup, including the addition of the Silverado hybrid. The automaker's XFE trucks are another positive development -- Silverados that designers have tweaked in order to increase fuel economy.

The compact Colorado truck is still around for 2009, but remains similar to the 2008 version.

We're looking at a few changes to styling for 2008 Chevy trucks -- nothing massive, since the Silverado and Avalanche have both undergone major changes in the past few years. Chevy is offering more factory accessories for its trucks, and promoting existing accessories more heavily. There's a new safety development: the 2008 Silverado pickup (and it's GMC Sierra cousin) was awarded a 5-star safety rating for side-impact crashes.

The Chevy Silverado and Chevy Avalanche were redesigned for 2007, so look for major changes to both vehicles. You'll find a few changes and updates to the compact Chevy Colorado pickup.

Remember the short-lived Chevy SSR roadster truck? You'll find it with other trucks in the 2006 Chevy archives, although I think the trucks were leftovers from 2005. Personally, I liked the looks of the SSR. It didn't generate a following like other retro vehicles have, and only lasted a couple of years.
