Don't look for too many changes in the 2008 Chevy Avalanche, although there's an important safety change: side curtain air bags are now standard on all Avalanches. Chevy's added two new exterior colors to the Avalanche lineup, Blue Granite Metallic and Deep Ruby Metallic.
The 2008 Avalanche comes in three trim levels, the LS, LT and LTZ Avalanche, with your choice of 2WD or 4WD. A 5.3L V-8 engine is standard, and comes with GM's Active Fuel Management™, which switches from eight-cylinder to four-cylinder operation to save fuel. A 6.0L V-8 engine with Active Fuel Management and variable valve timing optional.
You can buy a FlexFuel 2008 Avalanche, with an engine that can run on E85 fuel.
