Improved Ride and Handling

The new RAV4 is larger, but it offers drivers better maneuverability and a tighter turning radius than previous models. The SUV has a stronger, stiffer chassis, a redesigned suspension, and new electronic power steering. All those systems work together to improve ride and handling.

All V6 RAV4s and all 4-cylinder models with third-row seating come standard with Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Downhill Assist Control (DAC). HAC helps keep the vehicle from moving while you start it on a steep incline or slippery surface. DAC lets the vehicle take you down a hill at low speed automatically, with no braking or acceleration by you.

Toyota did its homework before releasing the new generation RAV4. It's obvious that they listened to people--finding out what they did and didn't like about past models before jumping in to create something new. Everyone I've talked with is anxious to see the new model, which should arrive in dealerships sometime in December 2005.
