Introduction to the 2006 RAV4
The third generation 2006 RAV4 is much bigger than the '05 and looks far more macho. A 268hp 3.5L V-6 with a 5-speed auto is available for '06, but we tested the fuel efficient and responsive 2.4L inline-4 with 4-speed auto. Lots of cool new techie stuff available including electromagnetic (!) 4WD system, stability control, electric steering and 7-airbag system. MSRP (base 2WD model) $20,300; Warranty: 3/36,000
