Torrent's interior is better than its exterior, especially if you opt for all of the options: the Preferred Package ($1,555 for power seat, cruise control, etc.), the Sun & Sound Package ($1,285 for a sunroof, 6 CD changer and Pioneer speakers), the Security Package ($1,090 for side impact and head curtain airbags and one year of OnStar) and the Premium Package ($795 for heated leather seats). The leather makes for a fine, comfortable seat with good support. I was impressed with the leather panels in the doors, a luxury touch. The Torrent's dash is a little plain, but functional and well laid-out. Important gauges are neatly arrayed above the steering wheel, while climate control and audio are in the center stack. Buttons for all four power windows sit on the center console just below the gear selection lever. There's no redundancy – no buttons on the doors to control the windows. I guess that saves a few bucks, but it bugs me every time I find it in a car.

The back seat is quite roomy and comfortable. The Torrent's big doors give easy access for adults, and there's plenty of leg and head room. The rear seat slides up and back, increasing space without folding down the 60/40 split seat. A cheapy cargo shelf bisects the cargo area.
