F-150 King Ranch, Journey's End

For many truck buyers, the choice isn't which truck to buy, it's which Ford F-150 special edition truck to buy. The King Ranch is the top of the line. You can save a ton of money by choosing a model with fewer luxury features, a smaller engine, a smaller cab, etc. A basic Ford F-150 XL with a 4.2 liter V6 starts at $19,640. From there on up, you can choose SuperCab, SuperCrew, 4.6 liter V8 or 5.4 liter V8 engines, 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions, 4X2, 4X4, long bed, short bed, style side, flare side, Lariat and Harley Davidson models. Ford wants to make sure that there's an F-150 for everyone.

Not surprisingly, everybody else is also in the big pickup game. Dodge's Ram 1500 is a biggie, and you can order it up with a Hemi -- nice. GM is in the running with the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra, both due for a makeover soon. Toyota's redesigned Tundra should be a contender; Nissan's huge Titan is already a force to be reckoned with.

Maybe an F-150 isn't enough for you. Ford will be happy to hook you up with one of their Super Duty trucks -- perhaps an F-250 or an F-350 will fill that void in your life? I need to get an F-450 -- no, make that an F-750. That'll be sure to scare the neighbors, and get me some respect around here!
