EPA Rating: 24 City / 30 Highway
This version of the 2005 RAV4 ranks second in the EPA's fuel economy ratings for sport utility vehicles. The highway rating drops by one, down to 29 mpg, for a FWD RAV4 with an automatic transmission.
Toyota's RAV4 SUV was fitted with a larger, more powerful engine in 2004, a new exterior, plus safety improvements and interior upgrades, so the visible differences you'll see in 2005 are more enhancements than true changes.
The 4WD version of the RAV4 rates at 22/27 for both automatic and manual transmissions.
