When it's cargo you're hauling, the rear window is powered into the Midgate, then the Midgate and rear seat fold forward to create a 4x6 foot pickup truck bed. The cargo bed has four tie-down provisions, each capable of holding 500 pounds.
A locking, hard tonneau cover can be ordered to keep the cargo area clean and secure. Other accessories include bed rail cover inserts and a removable, locking cargo box.
Interior Features
- One switch lowers all four side windows and the rear window.
- A separate switch opens the sunroof.
- Eight-way driver's seat and front passenger seats.
- Four-way lumbar supports and memory settings for two drivers.
- Front seats have three heat settings for cushions and backs.
- Heated seat cushions are available for rear seats in some models.
- Perforated leather on the instrument panel and door trim grab handels.
- Leather covers for console lid, door trim armrests and door trim surround.
Navigation Radio
A touch-screen Navigation Radio is available on the H2 SUT, and provides map routes with 2-D and 3-D color maps on a 5.8-inch display screen. Step-by-step directions play in English or French.
- Verbal commands tell you when to turn and alert you when you stray from the calculated route.
- The system automatically recalculates a new route from the current position if you make a wrong turn.
- You can instruct the navigation system to plan a route using the shortest path or one using major roads.
- The system is coupled with the standard OnStar system.
Audio
An AM/FM Bose stereo with CD, cassette deck, automatic tone control and TheftLock is available. An optional premium sound system includes a six-disc, single-slot CD player.
Optional XM Satellite Radio
The optional XM Satellite Radio gives you 100 coast-to-coast, digital-quality channels of music, news, sports and talk. Many of the channels are presented commercial-free. The basic service costs $9.99 a month.
Winching, Pulling & Towing
- The rear bumper has large, military style retrieval loops; the front bumper has tow loops.
- The H2 SUT has front and rear hitch receivers, accessed through holes in the bumpers. This allows for a hitch-mount winch to be used on either end of the vehicle. The receivers are Class 3 rated, capable of towing a trailer or boat.
Engine
GM’s 6.0-liter, Vortec 6000 V-8 powers the H2 SUT. It delivers 325 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 365 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. The Vortec 6000 is mounted longitudinally and mated to a heavy-duty Hydra-Matic 4L65-E four-speed automatic overdrive transmission with full-time all-wheel drive.
Four Wheel Drive System
The four-wheel-drive system has five operational modes and a two-speed planetary gearset. Selections include:
- 4 HI Open for normal, everyday driving on dry road surfaces at any speeds.
- 4 HI Locked for semi-slippery surfaces like snow, light sand or wet areas.
- 4 LO Locked for severe off-pavement use, such as crawling over large rocks or logs.
- 4 LO Locked + Rear Diff Locked, available only when the transfer case is in Low Lock position. It permits locking up the rear differential for optimum slow-speed capability in climbing over large rocks or up long, steep grades.
- Neutral, obtained by simultaneously pressing the “4 LO Locked” and “4 HI Open” buttons and holding them down for 10 seconds. It permits flat-towing the H2 SUT behind another vehicle.
Anti-Lock Brakes & Traction Control
- Four channel anti-lock brake system (ABS) helps control braking on slippery surfaces.
- ABS adjusts to handle rough, off-road conditions.
- Traction control utilizes the ABS system to limit spinning of a wheel when it loses traction, forcing power to the other wheels
Front Suspension
- Utilizes 46-mm monotube gas-charged shock absorbers and a 36-mm front stabilizer bar.
Rear Suspension
- Utilizes a five-link trailing arm, air springs and a 32-mm stabilizer bar.
H2 SUT Pricing
- The base level model starts at $52,845 MSRP (including destination charge). It includes a sunroof and rear spare tire carrier as standard equipment.
- The Adventure Series model starts at $55,625 and includes the standard features of the base model, plus a brush guard, tubular tail lamp protection, roof rack crossbars, rubber floor mats, AM/FM six-disc CD changer, HUMMER first aid/tool kit, and air suspension system with onboard air compressor.
