Driving a truck as wide as the Titan takes some getting used to. On the suburban streets in my town, the Titan took up the whole lane, and with its extendable tow mirrors (part of a $400 "Big Tow Package" of options), I drove in fear of whacking passing traffic or parked cars. Once I became accustomed to the Titan's dimensions, my fear subsided. The Titan has a tight turning radius for a truck, which makes parking and general maneuvering easier than expected. Steering is direct and predictable. Visibility is pretty good, though the ride height of the 4X4 requires judicious use of your mirrors.

The Titan delivers a smooth, comfortable ride on city streets and on the highway. Power is adequate, but not overwhelming. With the "Big Tow Package," the Titan can tow up to 9,500 pounds. You can shift from rear wheel drive to all wheel drive on the fly with a knob on the dash. I didn't test the Titan on an off-road course -- dirt-whomping is frowned on in press vehicles. The stats are impressive, though, with 10.3" of ground clearance at the rear axle, a 32 degree angle of approach and 28 degree angle of departure the Titan should perform well in light-duty situations. For serious off-roading, you'll want to upgrade suspension components.
