Equinox's standard 3.4L V6 engine puts out 185 horsepower and 210 lb.-ft. of torque. It's coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission.
2005 Chevy Equinox Highlights
- Standard V6 power with five-speed automatic transmission
- Longest wheelbase, largest door openings among compact SUVs
- Sliding rear seat for passenger comfort or cargo room
- Front-wheel drive or available on-demand all-wheel drive
- Multi-tier cargo configuration
- Standard electric power steering
Sliding Rear Seat
The Equinox's 60/40 rear seat can be moved nearly 8 inches forward or backwards. Sliding it back all the way provides the most legroom, plus two recline positions. Bringing the seat all the way forward expands the cargo area.
Cargo Extras
The front passenger seat folds flat, extending cargo length. A removable shelf in the back can be positioned several ways to carry two levels of cargo. The shelf has carpet on one side and a washable plastic surface on the other. A series of hooks can be used to hold grocery bags or other items. A built-in leg turns the shelf into a table that can be used for tailgate parties.
