General Motors will recall about 1.77 million pickups, sport utility vehicles and vans in order to replace front windshield wiper circuit boards and motor covers. Vehicles repaired in an earlier wiper recall are not included in this new program.
Vehicles included in the recall:
- 1994-1997 Chevrolet C/K and GMC Sierra pickups
- 1994-1997 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban
- 1994-1997 GMC Yukon and Suburban
- 1995-1997 Chevy Astro and GMC Safari midsize vans
- 1995-1997 Chevrolet and GMC full-size crew cabs
- 1996-1997 Chevy Blazer and GMC Jimmy
- 1996-1997 Chevy S10, GMC Sierra, and Isuzu Hombre
GM will begin notifying owners of the recall during the summer of 2003.
