Chevy SSR To Pace NASCAR Nextel Cup Race

05/12/04: Chevrolet announced that its SSR roadster truck will pace the Chevy American Revolution 400, a night race that will be held at Richmond International Raceway on May 15, 2004. It's the SSR's first pace vehicle appearance at a NASCAR Nextel Cup event.

The SSR pace vehicle has a red, white and blue DuPont paint scheme with the American Revolution logo displayed on both door panels. The entire upper surface of the vehicle is Torch Red, with a pearlized white lower body and blue accents. A large Chevrolet bowtie is centered on the rear cargo cover.

The race will be the first of a limited number of appearances the SSR will make to pace NASCAR Nextel Cup events in 2004. The SSR is currently the Official Pace Vehicle of the Indy Racing League.
