Ford premiered its revamped F-150 pickup at the 2003 NAIA show in Detroit.

A quick look at features announced there:

  • New interiors, more spacious passenger compartments.

  • Regular cab has new access doors that make it easy to store things behind the seats.

  • New 5.4-liter, 3-valve Triton V8 engine produces 300 peak horsepower, a 15-percent improvement. Greater fuel efficiency is another plus.

  • New outboard rear shock absorbers and wide rear leaf springs.

  • Expanded cargo area. Standard Tailgate Assist helps owners open and close the gate.

  • Three cab choices.

  • Three box lengths, two box styles.
