GM puts this tour together to inform customers about the towing advantages of Chevy trucks. Chevy's traveling exhibit showcases many aspects of Chevy truck towing, such as acceleration, braking, fuel consumption, and the tow/haul feature. GMs Vortec V-8 gas engines, Duramax V-8 diesel engines, and Hydra-Matic and Allison transmissions will be featured throughout the tour.
At some tour stops visitors will be able to get firsthand experience towing with a Chevy Silverado equipped with a Duramax Diesel engine and Allison automatic transmission. They'll also learn more about the Chevy Suburban's towing capabilities. Some tour stops will offer demonstrations of GM's four-wheel steering feature, called Quadrasteer.
The tour began at a Bass Anglers Sportsman Society tournament in Leesburg, FL, in January. It ends in November at the Snow Show in Minneapolis. Chevy may add more stops to the tour if the schedule permits. Update: New tours will be featured on About Trucks as they are announced.
