British Minis were made from the late 1950's through 2000, and originally built to give drivers an alternative to Europe's underpowered, cramped micro-cars of the 1950s. Classic Minis were small, but they had more power, more legroom and were more comfortable than the other small cars of that time. The vehicles were an immediate success and different body styles were added throughout the years, including trucks like the 1974 Mini imported from England by my friend Jim. These economical little trucks were especially popular with repair persons and anyone else who needed a small truck bed to haul tools and parts for their business. Today's MINI cars offer creature comforts that Jim's little Mini truck doesn't have, but it only takes a glance to see the family resemblance.
