Chrysler Gets Back Into the Leasing Business
Chrysler announced that it will use lender GMAC to get back into the leasing business for six 2010 models: the Dodge Ram, Caravan and Journey, Jeep Wrangler and Liberty and the Chrysler Town and Country.
The announcement came at about the same time that Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne commented to the press on his surprise at the lack of progress the brand has made during the past two years, and that a production level of about 6 million cars and trucks is what's required for long term survival. The company will release its 5-year business plan in November.
Chrysler also has a couple of buyer incentives in place right now, but hurry if you're interested, because they expire on September 30th:
- Zero percent financing for up to 72 months or a $4,500 rebate on some 2009 vehicles
- A $3,000 rebate on some 2010 models
