First Drive: 2009 Ford F-150 Pickup Truck

I had the opportunity to drive the new F-150 at Ford's Michigan Proving Ground, not too far from Detroit. Ford set up four varied courses, each designed to test different systems and components. And it wasn't all F-150's -- Tundra trucks, Silverados and Rams were included for one-on-one comparisons. Ford designed the routes, so it won't be a surprise to hear that the F-150 did well in every category, but the tests were fair, and a few of the other trucks had issues that that I didn't expect to see.
