GM's Employee Discount Program

Friday August 22, 2008
The General Motors Employee Discount for Everyone program is being billed as a 100th Anniversary sales event, and will be around through September 2. I experimented with GM's find your employee price calculator, just to see how much I'd save on a new Silverado (I had to give a zip code so your prices and availability might differ).

  • A Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab LTZ 4WD with a standard box came back with a MSRP of $41,395 and an employee price of $36,890. An extra $5,000 cash back incentive took the bottom line to $31,890.

  • A 1500 Silverado Regular Cab Long Box LT 4WD showed a total savings of just over $6,000.

If you're looking for a new GM truck, it's probably not a bad time to buy one. Go shop the dealer lots -- vehicles included in the promotion should have a special pricing sticker on their windows.

Preview prices by plugging in your own wants and needs on GM's Web site, in an area filed under Current Offers.
