Pontiac's New Ute

General Motors introduced us to the GMC Denali XT Hybrid Concept in February, and many of us wondered then if a ute-like vehicle was in the works for the U.S. market. It is for Pontiac, who unveiled its 2010 G8 Sport Truck a few months back, a truck that's as close of a rebirth of the Chevy El Camino as we've seen in this country. The two-seater could satisfy a broad range of drivers if the price is right and if it doesn't drink too much gas. The contest to name the G8 truck has ended, but it's the marketing types who'll really assign a moniker. I haven't heard official news about that, or whether or not the truck is still on-track for a 2009 release.
