Test Drive: Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab

Monday June 9, 2008
chevy silveradoSome of the changes made to the newest generation Silverado were subtle, some were major, but together they produced an improved truck. One small-but-important tweak is the Silverado's EZ lift tailgate. The mechanism reduces lifting effort by about 40-percent, and that's a significant number when you consider the help it offers your back during the life of the truck. Silverdo Test Drive

i just recently purchased a 1500 silverado 2008 crew cab 4×4 lt1 package 5.3 i am pleased with the truck but the engine is a different story while you sit in park or in gear you feel a vibration like a rough idel i was told that it it was normal for this to happen nature of the beast so to speak it the new engine FUEL MANAGEMNET SYSTEM i think GM need to come up with a better way of doing things. Also this truck sat on the dealers lot for about 9 months and i have RUST underneath the truck already i only have 1563 miles on it. this is normal again because gm is cutting costs. i hope no one eles is having trouble like this.

Surface rust on the frame isn’t uncommon and usually isn’t a concern because the metals are treated to keep the rust from going deeper. If it goes deeper you should definitely have it looked at. If the rough idle is truly a concern you could take the vehicle to another Chevy dealer to see if their service department agrees with the first, or ask Chevy’s Customer Service rep to look at the problem.
