What's Up at the Detroit Auto Show?
Wednesday January 9, 2008
The North American International Auto Show, called the Detroit Auto Show for short, has been an annual event for over one hundred years, starting as a regional show with seventeen exhibitors and growing into one of the world's most important auto shows. Manufacturers usually like to keep their new vehicles under wraps until it's time to bring them out on stage, but sometimes they give us a sneak peek, like Toyota did with its A-BAT hybrid concept truck. Nissan has shown us a photo of its Forum concept -- it looks a crossover / minivan blend. GM has some new things to show us, and will include another look at the 2009 Silverado Hybrid it introduced a few months ago in Los Angeles. Ford has some important intros up its sleeve, too. I'll head to the show on Saturday, and plan to update the Trucks site pretty much as news happens. The Detroit show will be open to the public beginning January 19th. If you plan to attend, put on pair of comfortable walking shoes before you head out.More About the NAIAS
