Dodge was the first automaker to develop a pickup truck in the mid-size category -- larger than the Ford Rangers and other compact trucks out there, but smaller than a full-size truck. Mid-size trucks suit the needs of a good chunk of the truck driving community, since more than a few people are looking for something in that in-between range. For 2008, the Dakota's appearance has been tweaked, and Dodge added some refinements, including a new V-8 engine.
