Trucks like Ford's Explorer Sport Trac can be a good trade-off for drivers who need to haul things occasionally but who don't necessarily require a full size truck bed to do it. The Sport Trac transports people pretty comfortably in both its front and back seats and it has a cargo box that measures just over 4 x 5 feet. Ford sells an optional cover to protect your cargo -- or you can get one from an aftermarket auto parts manufacturer. Ditto with a bed extender -- flip the tailgate down and mount the extender to the truck to secure longer items.
