Ford Fairlane Concept Going into Production

Wednesday December 20, 2006
The Ford Fairlane concept is one of a new breed of concept vehicles--cars, trucks and SUVs that seem like they could go into production with just a few changes. Ford recently announced plans to develop a new crossover vehicle based on the Fairlane concept. Here's a look at the Fairlane from about the time of its original introduction. We'll have to wait and see which features Ford decides to keep and which ones it throws out. The vehicle is definitely a people-mover.

Hi, I enjoyed your article on the Ford Fairlanr concept vehicle. I presently own a Ford Freestyle and I enjoy its cargo space and its handling. However, it is terribly under-powered and unable to tow much! I hope that the Fairlane will have a better engine and more towing capacity.

Thanks

I am thoroughly unimpressed in the new fairlane concept. I am a huge fan of the originals and this is nothing like it. In no way does it even look similar to the older models unlike the new mustangs, chargers and such. Look the originals up, not the same. at all. It’s not even an SUV to start with.
