FordLink (tm) Mobile Office System

Tuesday September 5, 2006
ford truck mobile office fordlinkFord Motor Company's FordLink mobile office system was originally introduced at the SEMA show in 2005, the perfect place to intro new accessories. Now it's available on 2007 Ford F-150 and Super Duty trucks and can be retrofit to some earlier models. The system includes a laptop computer with wireless broadband connectivity that's mounted within reach of the driver -- but can be removed and carried with you like any laptop. FordLink is designed for anyone who runs an office from their truck, but should be attractive to other owners who want to travel with a built-in computer system.

In another important piece of Ford news today -- Bill Ford stepped down as President and CEO of the company and is now the Executive Chairman of Ford. His replacement is Alan Mulally, formerly with The Boeing Company. They're no doubt counting on Mulally to lead the company in a different direction and improve the slipping sales of many models. CNN has the entire story.
